What it sounds like on the page
Sparse and dense, because speech costs and silence is home. The prose turns inward, toward the worry that will not settle, and filters it through abstraction until private dread reads like reasoning. It hedges constantly, buried in maybe and perhaps and it seems, and then, without warning, one flat unhedged sentence lands the confession the hedges were circling.
What underslop changes when you pick it
